インストールマニアックス2009とは、Windows Web Server 2008上にどれだけ多くのOSS (Open Source Software)をインストール出来るかを競うものになっており、参加者は500人が選ばれます。
無事500人の中に選ばれ、競技に利用する環境（NEC Express 5800/110Ge とWindows Web Server 2008）が発送されてきました。
